Every year, as the autumn leaves give way to
falling snowflakes, I embrace the tradition of
writing a Christmas story. What began as a
small family ritual with my children has now
grown into a shared holiday experience with
extended family and friends.
A New Chapter
What began as a cherished family tradition of writing Christmas stories has grown into an exciting new chapter in my life as an author and publisher. My first picture book, Amado's Snowball, opened the door to a world of storytelling that continues with Amado's Soccer Ball and Don't Wake Gramps!
Each book brings something different to the page—Christmas magic, the joy of friendship and teamwork, or the laughter that connects generations. Yet all three share the same inspiration: creating imaginative, heartwarming stories that children will enjoy and families will treasure reading together.
The Inspiration Behind Amado
The character of Amado was inspired by watching my young grandson, who was endlessly fascinated by anything that rolls—cars, trucks, vacuum cleaners, and especially balls. I wondered: What if the ball wasn’t just an object… but a magical snowball with a purpose?
Behind the Illustrations
Each scene is carefully planned and refined to capture the intended characters, expressions, settings, and emotions. Illustrations often undergo numerous revisions, with particular attention to visual consistency, composition, color, and the smallest details that make a story come alive.
Each picture book represents approximately 1,000 hours of creative work, from writing and story development to illustration direction, image refinement, page composition, and final preparation for publication. It is a painstaking process requiring patience, persistence, and an unwavering commitment to the author's original vision.
Digital image-generation tools assist in creating and refining the artwork, but the creative decisions—from the initial concept to the final approved illustration—remain under the author's direction.
The result is a distinctive combination of original storytelling, personal artistic vision, and contemporary illustration technology, brought together to create engaging picture books for children and families.

Every story begins with an original idea, written and developed by L C Majeski. The characters, adventures, and storytelling are his own, inspired by family, imagination, and a lifelong appreciation for the magic of children's books.
Bringing those stories to life visually involves a creative process that combines traditional artistic references with modern digital technology. Working across three different image-generation platforms, Majeski directs the development of each illustration using original photographs, reference images, and existing artwork as creative foundations.

Beyond Children's Books
When I'm not writing and illustrating children's picture books, I enjoy the challenge of writing short stories and entering literary competitions. Short fiction offers a different creative opportunity—exploring history, human nature, and the extraordinary moments that reveal the best in us.
One story I'd especially like to share is The Christmas Miracle of 1914, inspired by the remarkable Christmas Truce of World War I, when soldiers on opposing sides briefly set aside their weapons and found common ground in the spirit of Christmas.
I invite you to take a few minutes, settle into a comfortable chair, and enjoy this story.
